A new love :)

I recently picked up some old issues of Frankie at the op-shop and I've fallen in LOVE!!! Such a cool magazine!! and the new issue has just hit the stand :) I popped into Spotlight on the way home from work tonight and bought myself one of these beauties... Yippee! Now I can punch out lots of cutie pie butterflies. This weeks Embellished Idol challenge was to create a layout based around either *The Top 5 places you want to visit before you die OR *The Top 5 things you want to do before you die I went with the five before I die and after lots and lots of brainstorming (that's what my photos of) I came up with:
*Backpack around Europe
*Have a family of my own
*Write and publish a novel
*Design and manufacture affordable shoes for BIG feet
*Be Happy and Content in myself and who I am
I'm loving the October Afternoon Cherry Hill pp's- just yummy! I've used them on the this and the previous idol layouts.
This weekend I'm off on a road trip to Mount Gambier, I can't wait to get away!! I've been feeling pretty flat lately with crappy work, insane scary winds and just feeling a bit lonely- MUM COME VIST ME!!! :) :) Its going to be nice to see some new sights, hangout with two of my most fabulous friends and drink lots and lots of wine :)
Also on a positive note I've survived TWO RPM classes...well half died in the first class (I managed to wait until I got home before I was sick!!!) and felt pretty good after the second- figure it will only get better :)
Have a fantastic Friday and even better weekend

Idol Round Four

Round Four entry for the Embellished Idol Comp. This one had a loooooong criteria list and was not feeling very inspired at all by it :(
But last night after work I sat down with a glass of wine and just went for it and here's what I came up with: So the criteria was to include
* stitching- used my trusty Bazzill stitches template
* painting- painted the journalling lines in the bottom corner
* layering- layered my October Afternoon pp & the journalling stickers on the left
* distressing- distressed the left-hand side of the kraft cardstock
* chipboard- used a Karen Day for Scrapware chipboard girl
* punch- used my EK success border punch on the pink pp
WHEW!! A lot to include without going crazy overboard.
Oh and story behind the layout?? It's me (obviously) when we were in Melbourne, with our GINORMOUS cocktails at crown, I can't actually remember what was said but I laughed and was desperately trying to spot daiquiri from pouring out my nose!! I turned this piccy into my facebook profile shot...Charlotte asked Tatum quite seriously one day if I was doing an emu dance...her question still makes me giggle :)
Now I'm off to desperately try and get this lo to upload in the embellished challenge gallery... its not working :( and I need to leave for work very shortly....fingers and toes crossed it behaves soon!!

layout x2

This weeks Embellished Idol challenge was to create a monochromatic layout. I went shopping on Wednesday for some inspiration, bought some gorgeous new pps and then didn't use a single one on the layout!! LOL! Went with a 'green' theme, inked up some strips of masking tape and added some stitching for some texture. Love this piccy of Bastian...check out his gorgeously long eyelashes!!! Layout two is for Mardi's weekly challenge at The Boxx. She challenged us to create a LO about "Today". Mine is very simple but I had a massive desire to use bright bright colour ( I think its after all the green!) and recorded some notes about Tuesday...
Today is my second day off work and I'm back to day shift tomorrow- YAY! I'm certainly a much happier person when I'm able to have a reasonable body clock. The weather has been absolutely stunning and I've been walking on the beach instead of going to the gym, its leaving me feeling very relaxed and refreshed :) This week I'm going to challenge myself to try a RPM class at the gym...I think it will HURT an awful lot but have been told its fabulous for weight loss- so we shall see :)
Very quiet night planned tonight...why is it that I get a Saturday night free and EVERYONE goes away! Thailand, South America, Alice Springs, Melbourne, Mount Gambier...seriously EVERYONE!! Oh well, will be a good sister and look after Miss Lilah so that Sam and Luke can have some time out :)
Happy Weekend

I'm soooo EXCITED!!

Because tonight I am going to this....
YAY!
Josh Pyke (whom I adore), Chris Cheney (lead singer of The Living End), Phil Jamieson (lead singer of Grinspoon) and Tim Rogers all playing songs from The Beatles, The White Album. I'm going with my Dad and Uncle- daggy but kinda sweet :) It really should be fantastic!
I also want to send out lots of birthday wishes, hugs and eskimo kisses for my sweet niece Charlotte whose 7 today!

Happy Birthday Charlotte!!!!

Happy Monday, xx Loz

Baby J

Week 2 in the embellished idol comp and the prompt was to create a circle lo, using *seasons, *friends, *around the world, or *through their eyes as the LO theme. Here's mine...

I chose this gorgeous piccy of Jasmine (thank you Tatum!) and just kinda went from there...I've never tried a circle LO before and not really happy with the end result, but I'm sure the longer I look at it the "missing" something will pop out at me :)

edited ** and so it has, after staring at the lo on the wall for a couple of days, I've added a small journalling sticker and a wooded heart button in between the birdie and flower. It now looks far more balanced and I very happy with it!! Just too lazy to re-upload :)***

I did use one of Jodie's gorgeous flowers...so so pretty- was so excited to get my package from her at the end of last week! Have a great weekend Loz x

Embellished Idol

Week one of Embellish Idol has come and gone, this weeks challenge was to be inspired by this pic:

And here's my interpretation... I was inspired by the texture of the papers, the damask/brocade patterns, the gold and red colours and the softness of the tulle. I love this photo of myself and gorgeous friend Bec- but it definately has to be in black and white to cover the drunk eyes ;) Its an older pic taken at the 2008 Staff Easter do. I had a lovely weekend, Friday night out with my girls to say goodbye to my friend Bec (a different one), who is going to Alice Springs for 2 months. Lots of vodkas and dancing to "ridiculously lame" 90's music- it was a great night!

**edited to add this piccy stolen from the bars website**

Saturday & Sunday I worked day shift (12-8pm) at work but managed to fit in some scrapping and a catchup with some friends before they fly away to Thailand for two weeks...so so jealous but have put in my request for one of these:

Yep I am a total consumer, but I couldn't resist the opportunity to buy such a gorgeous (fake) item cheaply. Tonight I'm back onto night shift :( but happily only two nights and then I have days off- YAY! Happy Monday :) xx Loz
