Prima Picks October

How yummy are this months Prima picks!!! I'm a big fan of the "say it in pearls centres" they are the perfect centre to all sorts of flowers and also look cool on their on as an embellishement. The bright colours of the tropics pp just makes me smile :) And the flowers....well they are just gorgeous aren't they!!

Layout Shares

Just a little bit of my latest scrapping. I used Cosmo Cricket Gretel which I saw for the first time the other day at the LSS and assumed it was a new line...but noooooo when I was googling to check the name I discovered it was released in 2007...it is delicious though. Gorgeous browns, oranges, blues and creams with flowers and butterflies- I bought every different piece in the line the shop had!!! Girls day out uses the Inspired Blueprints sketch 31- I copied the sketch to a T, mostly because I liked the simplicity of it :) I used an EK success punch along the strips of brown pp and cut out flowers from the scraps and mounted them with foam tape to give dimension to the LO. I also pinched an idea from Tatum's recent LO's where she's featured initials.
A warm day, yummy wine and food galore- a great day in the sun with friends
Ali & Me March 2009
After quickly knocking out the first lo, the second took an awful lot of paper shuffling... I used some more cosmo cricket pp, glimmermisted a flower cut from a crochet doily bought for $1 at the Salvos, some random chipboard bits which I inked up with dew drop inks in Rocket Red Gold and Coffee Bean, as well a yummy maya road bird which I painted and covered with dimensional magic- (Note to self- stop touching DM before its fully dried!!!!) I printed my journalling on a blank page torn from a vintage book and added a few butterflies punched out using my Martha punch :)
Miss Charlotte, sometimes you drive me so so crazy, but then you'll turn around
and give me a great big hug and tell me you love me and I remember just
how awesome you are xxxx 10.10.09
Love that girl to bits and pieces!! I am so so lucky to have such awesome sisters who have produced such beautiful kidlids for me to love :)
It has seriously been a crap week this week...which totally sucks :(
But whilst doing a bit of shopping before work this morning I got a magical phone call asking me if I wanted the day off.... YES PLEASE!!!!! And I have certainly re-charged my batteries...lots of time poking around the shops in the city, a big chat to my baby sister, some cleaning in preparation on Sunday, a little bit of gardening and checking out whats been happening in Internet land...bliss!! And now to look forward to meatballs (from Lucias) and spaghetti with a nice big glass of red for dinner...all with beautiful weather- just what the doctor ordered! :)
Hope your having a lovely week

Movie Date

I just got home from a movie date all by myself :) A very cute movie...all about Julia Child and her start in cooking and Julie Powell and her quest in 2002 to cook everything in Child's book Mastering the Art of French Cooking. A very nice date indeed..and its inpired me to cook again- a BIG plus! I'm still spinning out over yesterdays email from Scrapbook Memories...honestly can't believe that after less than 12 months scrapping I could be producing work thats in the same caliber as the lovely ladies also on the list! Soooooo exciting :) Off to play with some paper and a bit of paint now- hope you're having a lovely thursday,

Autumn Memories

Last night I sat down and finished off the layout that had been sitting on the desk for weeks- I started it back when Tatum, Lou & I had a bit of scrappy day!! This is one of my absolute favourite photos of Mum and I out in the apricot trees at our house in Port Lincoln -Mum & Dad still live there...but the apricot trees have died :(
May 1987- Mumma & I in the apricot trees @ home
A special first moment xxx
I've painted the masking tape, with some vintage lace, a strip of prima packaging and cut some frames out of a piece of Sassafrass vintage yummy. I made a tissue paper flower Steph Devlin style using some Glimmermist I bought yesterday in Pumpkin Pie- a yummy orange colour :) I've used American crafts remarks letter stickers and Heidi Grace alpha with a few random buttons sewn on to finish it off...all a bit random :)
I'm thoroughly enjoying some days off atm...having dinner at a friends tonight for a loooong over due catch up and hitting the town tomorrow night for some cocktails and dancing with the work girls. In between some housework, homework, some scrapping and playing with all the new channels now that I have foxtel- lifestyle food is definitely my favourite :)
Have a fabulous Friday

Some pretty flowers

There's an embellie swap going on at The Boxx and these are the pretty pretty flowers I've made. I've decided that I'm a tiny bit in love with them...and they are super easy to make, although a little fiddly :) I cut out circles from organza and tulle in two different sizes (I cut 2x large in organza and 1x large in tulle, 1x small in tulle and 1x in organza) Hold the circle's above the flame of a tea light- this bit took a little bit of practice..burning tulle does not smell good at all!! lol!! Layer it all together, chuck in a couple of stitches and add a centre. I used a sequin, but could also use a button or bead or some bling- so many ideas :) I originally found the idea/directions HERE. And Ta-Da!! A pretty flower...

I have been pretty quiet of late- two weeks of night shift and having mumma here to visit means that I haven't had a chance to scrap at all! but I picked up a few new bits and pieces today, and have plans to turn my scrap table (ahem...dinning table) into a nice mess tonight :)

Hope your having a great week,
