My funeral songs

Another week without a blog post, and another week of me being a grumpy cow. Its getting a bit monotonous really- the emotional roller coaster I've been on is really starting to get to me, but I am determined to pull myself out of this funk and get over the fact that all I really want to do is sleep for an eternity.
So what better way to do that than share my funeral songs!
The amazing Eden has set the challenge as her Fresh Horse Brigade and seeing as it has actually been something on my mind the last couple of weeks the songs were easy to come up with.



  

I have very specific ideas about my funeral and they include that there are to be NO carnations-I hate the buggers, lots of colour- please leave the black at home, I want to be cremated and my ashes scattered out at sea. Afterwards I want everyone to eat really good cake, with really good coffee...and then go to the pub. I want my remembrance card thingy to be a bit modern...no old fashioned printing for this chick and most of all I want music! and lots of it!

Greenday- Good Riddance (Time of your life)
Not only are Greenday one of my favourite bands, but I think Good Riddance is a perfect funeral song...and I saw these guys in concert- it was freaking AMAZING!!

Another turning point, a fork stuck in the road
Time grabs you by the wrist, directs you where to go
So make the best of this test, and don't ask why
It's not a question, but a lesson learned in time

It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right.

Foo Fighters- Ballad of the Beasonsfield Miners
Another of my favourite bands, the connection to Australia through this ballad and I love the quietness of it. My second pick would be for Everlong to be played.

 

 Spice Girls- Wannabe
An ode to my varied and at times completely dodgy music taste, I insist that everyone gets up and has a boogy to the Spice Girls. My other song of choice would be Karma Chameleon by Culture Club...now that one really is dodgy!!
