Why I adore social media

I am a bit of a social media whore. I pretty much flirt with all the forms- facebook, twitter, pinterest, instagram and goodreads are my mainstays but I have also briefly visited flickr, we heart it and foursquare too. Today though was a prime example of why I think social media is awesome, and also why my dad is awesome. 
My grass has been in desperate need of a mow for weeks, but I am lazy and also fired my last lawnmower man when the landlord moved to town so to say the grass was a little out of hand is putting it lightly. On my way home from the gym today, I decided that today was the day to bite the bullet and attack the lawn. I stopped at the landlords house, and stole the lawnmower...got home and then realised that I had absolutely no clue on what to do next.
Enter instagram...

Now that I finally stole the lawnmower from the landlord 

I've worked out that I really have no idea how to use it...

Within 30 minutes my tech savvy dad had seen the photo and called me to help talk me through how to start the dreaded machine! How cool is that! I love that I can instantly share things and get answers to questions. I love that my dad has instagram and twitter accounts, he learns some pretty cool things, it means that we can always connect even though we aren't in the same town. I love that my lawn is now mowed and I did it myself :)

and that is why I adore social media!
